DuWayne — Computer Network Engineer
I live in Southern New Jersey with my wife Karen, 2 step-children, and 1 blue-blooded, finicky furball (Seal-Point Himalayan). I've lived in this area for most of my life, except for a couple of years in the Virginia Beach area while attending college. As you may have noticed at the top of the page, I'm a HUGE Philadelphia Flyers fan...I've supported and followed the team since before they won the Stanley Cup in 73-74, 74-75, and suffered with them when they missed the playoffs for 5 straight years.
I'm currently a Senior Network Engineer for AECIO Technology Group (www.aecio.com). They are a computer consulting firm in King of Prussia, PA. that specializes in networks, internet connectivity and such. I've been there for just over 1 1/2 years, and have been involved in the electronics / computer industry since 1981. I'm a Novell Certified Administrator (CNA). I am also a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) for Windows95 and Windows 2000 Professional. I have a Certificate in Electronics Technology from Burlington County College, and have garnered several Engineer of the Quarter awards from my company.
I started playing flight-sims 12 or so years ago, but I've been interested in flying since I was much younger. I first flew on TSN / INN in 1992 after seeing that they offered an on-line flight sim and promptly got addicted to Red Baron. After asking around "what do the letters in front of your name mean" question, I was told about there being actual squadrons on TSN. I then petitioned the AK's for membership, and after my "ak" period, I became a full "AK". I've felt that it is an honor to be a member of such a class organization, and wouldn't trade the time I've spent with this group for anything. Some of us were fortunate enough to find each other again on the internet, and we started getting together to play various games on-line. After hearing about the resurrection of RB2, Cobra decided to re-form the squad. I didn't hesitate for a moment to jump at the chance to fly as an AK once again. Unfortunately, RB2 wasn't quite ready for prime time when it was released, so we found a home on FC. It was there that the AK's re-established themselves as a top-notch squad once again, and grew to what they are today. I never imagined that the squad would get to the size that it is now, but I must say, that we have one HELL OF A CREW !
Interests: Computers, Military History (WW2 mostly), Hockey
Sims: Red Baron II
Quote: ""AK Uber Alles !""
Milestones:
• First joined AK's on TSN/INN in 1992
• Found the AK's online again in 1996 and rejoined in 1997
• Elected to AK Hall of Honor in 1997
