I started flying in 1992. At that point it was flying in real planes, Cessna's mainly. In 1994 my dad bought a 486 SX33 and I bought Aces Over Europe and Red Baron almost immediatly. I played those games for a long time and bought more flight "sims" as they came out. My skills were average and I learned to fly against AI instead of real pilots. In 1995 I flew the original version of Confirmed Kill, at that time a joint venture between EIDOS(DoMark at the time) and ICI(now IMOL). My first flight was actually pretty good, I shot down a few aircraft but crashed into a mountain avoiding a P38. As time went on I kept doing CK/WB and then quit after v1.11r3. Since then I'd been in between sims. I flew Fighter Duel for about a year and a half and had a blast doing that. I met AKFeen there(at the time he was not an AK) and he taught me how to fight using energy. I joined the FD ladder and got as high as 15th place out of 130 or so players. It was a great time. FD died out when newer technologies came along(and the dreaded Cyrix processor made everything faster in FD). I then stumbled on FC in late '97 and flew that game until a few weeks before it went pay for play. I can't say I accomplished much in the way of winning tourneys there. It was on FC, however, I met the AKs-- Cobra, Torment and Goldenrod. I sent an email to SkyVirus(I think) asking if I could join. In the end, I was allowed to join and since then I've been in the AK family and have loved every moment of it. To me, the AKs are a kind of family. Everyone of them is a great friend, and I hope to be in the group as long as they'll tolerate me. :-)
