Flying Circus
SimGuild's Flying Circus is a World War I online multiplayer combat flight simulator first released by SimGuild of Lawton, Oklahoma in 1998-1999. This is the AK Squad's revival: fly the original game client against a modern server that brings the old online arenas back to life. Register a callsign and take to the skies over the Western Front in a Fokker Dr.I, Sopwith Camel, Spad, Albatros, Pfalz or Nieuport.
6 pilots registered · 4 kills logged
A game-preservation project
This is a fan preservation project for SimGuild's Flying Circus. Our goal is simply to keep a piece of late-1990s online gaming history alive and playable.
- The original game is unchanged. We do not modify, replace, patch, or alter the original gameplay, art, or design in any way. The game plays exactly as it did in 1999.
- We only built a server. The original SimGuild login servers are long gone, so we wrote a clean-room server that the original client can connect to, emulating the original online features (arenas, callsigns, radio, combat, scoring) as faithfully as we're able.
- Not affiliated with SimGuild. All original rights, artwork, and design belong to their creators. This is a non-commercial labor of love by players who didn't want the game to disappear.
If you're a former Flying Circus pilot, or you were part of SimGuild in Lawton, we'd love to hear from you.
