CO · Commanding Officer
Overall command of the squadron.
The Commanding Officer (CO) holds overall command of the Arabian Knights. The CO sets the squadron's strategic direction, represents AK externally, presides over the staff, and is the final authority on roster, awards, and operational matters. In the CO's absence the XO assumes command; if neither is present, the senior officer present (typically S5 during FSO frames) takes the role.

- Chair the staff (S1–S9) and resolve cross-staff issues
- Approve promotions, awards, recruiting decisions, and disciplinary actions
- Lead the squadron during operations when present, or designate the senior officer in their absence
XO · Executive Officer
Second in command; runs day-to-day squadron operations.
The Executive Officer (XO) is second in command, deputizing for the CO and running day-to-day operations. The XO works closely with the entire staff to keep activities on track, fills in for the CO during absences, and is often the senior officer present during squad nights and FSO frames.

S1 · Personnel Officer
Recruiting, retention, roster maintenance, medals.
The Personnel Officer (S1) has responsibility over all matters pertaining to the recruiting, inducting and retaining of all pilots within the AK 2/AH. The S1 is also responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date roster of all pilots and their status, plus pilot profiles and medals pages.

- Capture data for frames AKs are active in and make appropriate awards for FSO, Combat Challenge and Scenarios
- Award medals
- Ensure the membership roster and AH roster are synchronized
S2 · Intelligence Officer
Game intel: aircraft/vehicle/object data, terrains, target maps.
Gathers information useful in activities carried out within the game. Supervises and performs comparative tests of aircraft, vehicles and objects within the game in order to build a database of such information. Makes this information available to the squad. Works in close cooperation with the S3 and S5, providing any intelligence data required for their planning.

S3 · Operations Officer
Plans and runs squad night activities.
The S3 is responsible for the planning and recording of squad night activities. The S3 assists the executive officers in the running of squad nights. If no executive officer is present, the S3 is responsible for running squad night operations with the other officers present.

S4 · Logistics Officer
Squad software + data assets; primarily a web developer.
The S4 is responsible for ensuring that the squadron has appropriate software and data for the administration of the squad and the Arabian Knights website. The S4 is primarily a web application developer, but is also responsible for the organization of all data assets held by the squadron. The S4 works in close cooperation with the S6 and S9 to realize these goals.

S5 · Planning Officer
FSO and Scenario participation, frame command, AARs.
The Planning Officer is responsible for squadron activities with respect to squad-sanctioned special events including Friday Squad Operations (FSO) and AH scenarios.

- FSO: determine appropriate commitment level for tour
- FSO: announce new tours, frames and frame orders
- FSO: command the squadron during the frame; act as AK CiC when required
- FSO: produce AAR for each frame
- Scenarios: promote announced scenarios; poll the squad for interest
- Scenarios: register interested members; announce frames and orders
- Scenarios: produce AARs
S6 · Signals Officer
Webmaster, BBS administration, comms, security.
The S6 is the Security and Communications officer. Primary duties include internal affairs, administration of the mail lists, BBS administration, password administration, and all other methods of intra/inter-squad communications. Acts as webmaster for the squadron webspace.

- Maintain voice servers (Ventrilo / TeamSpeak) and chat clients as required
- MySQL database administration, backups, and website security
- Password administration and intra/inter-squad communications
S7 · Training Officer
Flight training, tactics database, tournaments.
The Training Officer has responsibility over all matters pertaining to flight training. Conducts practice sessions, organizes tournaments, and ensures the AKs are a force to be reckoned with. Coordinates development of battle plans and missions with the S3. Should be well versed in classic combat tactics. Works closely with the S3 and S5 to identify specific training needs (e.g. airframe familiarization) for operations.

- Forward AKs to AH trainers or in-squad experts as appropriate
- Provide support training for squad night operations and special events

S8 · Finance Officer
Treasurer (currently dormant — appointed by HoH if needed).
Acts as treasurer for the squadron. There is currently no active requirement for this role. The S8 must be an HoH member appointed by the HoH.

S9 · Civil-Military Co-operation (CIMIC) Officer
Special projects, paraphernalia, website content management.
Responsible for the coordination of special projects, such as the development of AK T-shirts, hats, and other paraphernalia. Develops new ways to promote the unit through paraphernalia and the website. Responsible for winning the hearts and minds of the greater world to the ways of the Arabian Knights. Acts as content manager for the website; works closely with the S4 and S6.
